Taking its name from the Chambers family's direct lineage to renowned explorer Matthew Flinders, Flinders Timber is built on a legacy of resilience, determination and a passion for supporting the people building South Australia.
Founded in 1979 by Flin Chambers, the business began as a local hardware store built on hard work, integrity and genuine service. In 2006, a new chapter began when Flin's son, Brook Chambers, and his wife Jacqui joined the business, bringing first-hand construction experience and a deep understanding of the challenges builders face every day.
Their vision transformed Flinders from a traditional hardware supplier into a dedicated trade-focused business, providing timber, estimating, truss and frame solutions, and project support to builders across South Australia.
As construction continues to evolve, so do we, combining decades of experience with innovative technologies and smarter ways of building.
We're proud of where we've come from, excited about where we're going, and committed to continuing the legacy that has guided us for generations.

Flinders Timber has been owned and operated by the Chambers family since 1979. In an industry increasingly dominated by national chains, franchise groups, and corporate conglomerates, our family ownership is not just a point of pride, it is the reason we operate the way we do.
